Court Tennis

The Tennis & Racquet Club features a court tennis court, the only one of its kind in the region. The game features handmade balls, slate walls, a court layout reminiscent of a palace courtyard, and requires the ability to hit off side, roof, and back surfaces. The T&R provides court tennis programs at all levels, from junior to expert, with both private and group lessons, as well as organized clinics.

Court Tennis Professional Jimmy Burke:

T&R Tennis & racquets Pro Jimmy Burke Jimmy Burke, the T&R Court Tennis professional for the past 20 plus years, has played and taught the game for more than 35 years. Burke began the sport at age 13 at theRacquet Club of Philadelphia. Five years later he became the No. 2 player in the world. Success catapulted Burke into prestigious teaching positions at the Racquet & Tennis Club in New York. He has since earned a series of titles in many tournaments across the U.S., including the U.S. Open singles and doubles titles and the U.S. Professional SinglesTournament.

Assistant Court Tennis Professional Camden Riviere:

T&R Tennis & racquets Pro Jimmy BurkeCamden Riviere is the T&R's Assistant Tennis Professional and can be reached in the proshop or via email at camden@tandr.org. Camden is from Aiken, South Carolina, and learned his tennis there. He is a great tennis player, currently ranked number two in the world, and challenged for the World Championship in France in 2008. He was a finalist in the 2008 French Open and won the French Open Doubles. He won the 2008 European Open and was a finalist in the 2008 British Open singles and doubles. Camden is also available to give squash lessons.
